For years I've used a small scoop to scoop litter out of buckets when changing cat litter. This is normal but slow due to its capacity. I wanted to use it for something else and when I saw that this shovel was the right size for the job (I use the big ones as I have four cats) I grabbed it. Second hand. It comes with two attachments, one presumably for hanging on a hook and the other for hanging on the side of the box (I think). I'm happy with it and would recommend it if you need a large dustpan. to change the pad. (This is not for collecting clots of urine and feces.)
