Review on Large Print Bicycle Playing Cards - 2 Pack by Jerry Mangum

I read the reviews and they sounded great for my dad who has poor eyesight. At first he liked them until he played his first hand. The problem was that he couldn't see the suit while holding multiple cards (six cards in this case). For example, after the appropriate number of cards have been dealt, the cards are usually held in a fan in the hand. The problem was that with only six cards in your hand, you could only tell the cards behind the first card in your hand by whether it was an ace, king, etc., but you couldn't tell the suit. I deliberately ordered the original colorway of black spades and clubs, red hearts and diamonds as he is older and figured that changing the color of the suits wouldn't work. What wasn't obvious was that unless you're constantly fanning out each card, it's difficult to tell the suit. He doesn't play cards and after playing with him I understand that. It may take some getting used to by some consumers but my father has been playing cards for at least 79 years. Excellent quality cards etc. I might suggest changing the face of the card to include a color with an identified number. , face card or ace so you can see both the suit and the card.
