I have a Dell Latitude laptop and figured a Dell monitor would connect easily. Not true. The VGA cable that came with the monitor will not connect to the laptop. And the instructions don't mention how to connect to the laptop. TO UPDATE. I spoke to DELL Technical Support. The monitor is equipped for a desktop computer. Supplied with the following cables: VGA-VGA, USB-DVI, DP-DP. It is not possible to connect the monitor to a desktop unless you purchase an optional cable (HDMI male to HDMI male). Very disappointed that Dell does not mention this in either the product description or the written instructions. So you can throw the included VGA and Ethernet cables in the trash. So today I'm going to buy an HDMI cable and see if it really works. Update 10/12/2020 - I bought an HDMI to HDMI cable and connected my laptop to a monitor and it works great now. Instead, you can buy a docking station with VGA ports for your laptop, but that's expensive.
