I should have known it would be big! The issue is that I did not have room in my house or even on my covered porch for this plant stand. What I did was lay down faux grass and then some fairly flat concrete pavers under this planter. I painted some outdoor waterproofing sealer on the wood shelves so that they would fair well in the place I chose for this large pair in my yard. I have it set up near the seating seating area in my yard and it looks really nice! I do have some interesting and unique hanging pots that add to the visual interest of this large plant shelving unit. I would love to have this in my house, but the size was just too big for it to fit. Also, if I were to have it inside, I think the need for grow lights would detract from the planter itself. Outside, my plants get plenty of natural light while sitting or hanging on this plant unit. That, I guess is the only thing I would suggest to the makers - by it's size alone, making it "outdoor proof" as I did would make it an easier sell for those like me who could not find a more protected spot for it.
