Strong but not painful. The heads are twisted. When they come loose it's a pretty horrible rattle so make sure they're tight. I like the charging base, but a couple of times it didn't charge right away and I had to move it around a bit. I hope that there will be no charging problems in the future as long as everything is fine. Most heads are hard plastic, but a couple have rubber studs. It's a decent weight, but the lack of cables helps with maneuvering.
