Review on πŸ” HKN Ethernet Detector Instrument Internet: Enhancing Network Troubleshooting and Monitoring Efficiencies by Michael Boyce

It works and is cheap, but the battery compartment doesn't close.

One of the network ports in my house stopped working and swapping both ends didn't help. So I got this tester and of course it indicates that one of the 8 wires is open somewhere in the walls. It was also easy to use when testing. It seems to work exactly as intended, but you can't reclose the battery compartment with a 9 volt battery inside. Because the case is barely thicker than a 9V battery, and on top of that the battery connector is brought out the side like most 9V battery connectors, you need about 3mm of extra clearance beyond the thickness of the battery, and the battery compartment this Device has no such release. Please note that the 6th image in the listing shows the back of the device with the battery compartment open. Inside the compartment you'll see what appears to be a built-in 9V battery connector, as the metal connection points are attached to the case rather than free formed wire ends with a rubberized plastic cover. I have the version with free wires and that is the problem. You can also use the thing with the battery glued in, so it gets 2 stars instead of 1. If the battery compartment closes without any problems, the thing gets 5 stars for this price. but i need to appreciate what i got.
