Review on ENOMAKER Near End Extrusion Conversion Kit: Enhanced Extruder Performance and Convenience by Flavio Scarola

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent quality and good performance

Overall I am very happy with this kit but I would like to point out a few things that might make your life easier during installation. was ok for me because I have a BLTouch). There is no slot in the metal plate to support the standard fan housing, meaning it will install crookedly if you don't have a bed level sensor. With my BLTouch mounted on the left side of the hotend, the fan cover mounts easily over the BLTouch bracket. If you don't have a bed height sensor, you can print out a spacer to fix the gap problem (or get a bed height sensor; they're awesome!). Second, there is no cable management in this kit. I fixed this by designing a replacement gasket for this cable management extension kit. I posted this on Thingiverse (Article #4407360). You can see it in the photo attached to this review; so far everything works great. Third, you will need to adjust the X-stop as the hot end position will change after installing this kit. I found a great design on Thingiverse (part number 3574611) that makes it easy, you can use the nuts and bolts from the standard extruder mount as you no longer need them. Given those elements, I still feel good about giving this set 5 stars. It's cheaper than other direct drive kits and its shortcomings are pretty easy to fix. I also appreciate that the hot-end bottom bracket comes with four rollers (rather than the standard bottom bracket's three rollers), which should reduce wobble or instability due to the extra weight the bottom bracket gets from this mod.

Pros
  • Short range extruder, ideal for TPU printing, compatible with a wider range of filaments.
Cons
  • faded
