Worked flawlessly to fix and mount a pair of Windows XP IDE drives on a Linux system Me had an old XP computer that my family stopped using 10 years ago. It's time to ditch it, but I wanted to snap up old family photos and all before I ditch the system. The first drive I tried didn't work, so I ran GRC's Spinrite on it with an adapter. After scanning, the disk appeared and was mounted in Linux Ubuntu with KDE user interface. I was able to upload and back up old family photos. The second hard drive worked on the first try. It's a little tricky to coordinate connecting the drive's power cord when the drive is plugged in, but once it's plugged in everything works great.
