I'm a professional photographer and most of my work comes via USB 3 flash drives. popular brand of USB sticks. I've used SanDisk 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB Cruzer Ultra drives for years without a single failure. You should be aware that a 16GB flash drive will NOT provide 16GB of data storage. , I'll never understand what is, but you're limited. Each drive must reserve space for firmware, reducing the capacity of your drive. So get a drive with a capacity well in excess of what you really need. The limited file size has nothing to do with the nominal USB size, it is due to the "formatting" These drives are formatted in FAT32, which means that the size of a single file cannot exceed 4GB after formatting. BUT YOU can reformat the drive using Windows. Click on the drive and select FORMAT, then select NTFS instead of FAT32 and you can add large files to the drive. I do a lot of film/video presentations and have had to reformat drives for these large film files. Like those drives and the USB connector is retractable BUT it's still exposed to the dust and dirt you might have in your bag. Personally, I use CaseLogic zip bags to store and ship my precious data-laden SanDisk flash drives. I definitely recommend them! They represent the best combination of price, quality and performance.
