I use them (I have 6 of them) in a creek to deter predators. The coyotes use the creek as a "highway" and easily jump over the fence of our ranch where we keep goats, cats and other animals. These lights are "turned on" each night when predators begin to hide in search of their next meal. I bought them in every available color to confuse the coyotes. So far they work for my purpose and I don't have to go down to the creek at night to turn them on. They are not very suitable for keeping in the car as a safety light when you need to get out. side of the road for some reason. However, they are very bright and visible and have many uses other than your car. The magnet sticks really well to the 4x4 metal pipe I have around the creek area and a couple of old metal tables I salvaged from our backyard for the purpose. They've stood up to the rain, snow and extreme cold we've had and I'll have to see how well they hold up in the Texas heat this summer.
