Review on πŸ”˜ Dorman 901-116 Front Driver Side Door Mirror Switch: A Perfect Fit for Chevrolet Models by David Batte

Works but not perfect for 2009 HHR

Ordered this to replace the power mirror switch on my daughter's 2009 HRR LT. The vehicle is listed correctly on my Revain profile and the filters say it is the correct switch for the vehicle. Looks almost (almost) identical to the original, the electrical connection is correct. The problem is not with the mirror adjustment switch, but with the left/right rocker switch. The original has rounded corners, this replacement has straight corners. It's fine as long as you don't install it. The slot in the rosette into which the switch is inserted has rounded corners instead of square ones. The switch sits nicely in the slot, but that tiny amount of excess material in the corners of the slot blocks your ability to actually move the switch in any direction (in other words, the switch gets stuck in the center position). Since my daughter's HHR is an old car with high mileage, I didn't care about the cosmetics. I just took a utility knife and leveled the corners of the slot in the chuck. It's barely noticeable and the switch doesn't stick and works well. I don't think I would go with this switch if I replaced it with a 'good' car. I see at least one other reviewer encountered the same issue.

Cons
  • Will not fit all
