Needed to replace an old Fluval submersible pump for a 55 gallon freshwater aquarium. Upon researching and reading good reviews, some thought the tank was too strong for a 55 gallon tank. The pump is very well made and comes with a wide range of outlet nozzles. This feature was great as it is rated for 80 gallons, it was too strong with a simple "snout" attachment, but with the included pipe section with (5) small holes and a rubber stopper it was perfect. It absorbed the initial volume and delivered a directed flow. I also like the design of the filter compartment. It allows you to add your own filter media, (1) solids compartment, and (1) bag sack compartment. In addition, Danner is a traditional American manufacturer that stands behind its products.
