Connecting electrical wires is a talent that electricians develop after doing it thousands of times. Keep the wires together. Twisting with electric pliers. Screwing on a wire nut. Make sure they've removed enough insulation, but not too much. During the process, protect the wires from rotting. And you get a switch box full of wire nuts. Suffice it to say that new electricians (like homeowners) may find this process MUCH more difficult than they anticipate. Lever nuts make the process incredibly easy. Insert the wires one at a time. Transparent plastic allows you to visually check that the wire has been stripped correctly. It holds the first wire in place while you install the next wires. Everything is flat and compact. I LOVE these things!
