First, this is a passive device, it is not powered. It simply amplifies the sound coming from the speakers on the bottom of the iPhone. People don't seem to understand that. Nevertheless, this little thing arrived today and we tried it right away. It really worked. Sound from the speakers is directed by a "horn" that may be aimed at the screen, or the screen may be upside down and away from you. It was really loud and will definitely be enough to cover the entire class (which is my wife's wish). The sound isn't stunning by any means, but if you're just trying to amplify the sound in a large room it's easy to use and doesn't require any power supply whatsoever. Of course there are limitations. If your room is too big, you need a powered/bluetooth system. But they usually start at $30. You may then need to remember to charge them or you may need a power source. So if you need a temporary audio boost system, try this. For $15 it's worth it.
