I bought them to wear as a warm lining with rubber boots on a few snowy days. I wasn't sure how long my son would survive the cold. Eventually he enjoyed it so much that one day he played in the snow for hours. Eventually his feet got cold, but he was having so much fun - he didn't seem to mind. They cannot be worn without boots as they do not stay on the feet.
