Does the trick when you need a biodegradable, but it WILL make your skin ghostly white

I needed a biodegradable, reef-friendly sunscreen for snorkeling in Mexico, and this one got the highest recommendations from environmental groups.Pros:- The spray makes it easy to use, especially for your back or hard-to-reach areas- It's basically odorless--a pleasant change from most sunscreens which smell awful- It goes on dry, not sticky like most sunscreens, and doesn't make you shiny- It stays on forever, including in the water. As in, even after showering after being in the water most of the day, I got out only to realize that there was STILL some of this on my abdomen!Cons:- Like, I guess, any non-tinted zinc sunscreen, it goes on ultra-white. Rubbing it in makes it a little less white, but you will still look like you're covered in talcum powder or white dust or something.- As with any sunscreen, be careful to cover all exposed parts (even the ones that are hard to reach) and to reapply, especially to areas where things have likely been rubbing (e.g., shoulders if you're carrying a bag, rear end and backs of thighs where you've been sitting, etc.) It's extremely water resistant, but it can definitely rub off from places where something is rubbing against it.My bottom line: I would recommend it (and use it again) for situations where biodegradable is a must. However, for getting sun on your average beach or pool, I'll stick to the usual stinky, sticky chemical sunscreens that don't make me look like a ghost (and, I think, kind of "filter" the UVs so you can actually still get a little tan!).

Pros
  • Fantastic. Rubs in easily
Cons
  • Good sunscreen but the spray is terrible. It comes out soooo splotchy and stark white
