This is not a very good magnetic car phone holder. I might even consider it a useless product if I had to mount it on a flat surface. This phone mount doesn't have much freedom of movement. When placed on a flat surface, the phone will always tilt upwards, which isn't ideal, to say the least. Also, I can't tighten the top nut enough to keep the phone from moving. If I tighten it more tightly than it was I'm afraid the threads will snap and become unusable. Luckily, my Galaxy S10e is pretty light, so it doesn't move much while driving. Another design issue is the underside of the mount. Tightening the bottom nut snugly creates a bulge at the bottom, which in turn forces the adhesive away from the dash. Despite best efforts, after only 2 weeks there were signs of the bracket becoming detached from the dashboard. I'll be using this until then, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I didn't use the fan mount, so I can't comment on that.
