After much research I chose these triangular shelves for my garage because of the combination of weight, depth and adjustability. They don't disappoint although I give four stars because there is room for improvement. Also, as a customer, I usually read 3 and 4 star reviews because generally these people liked it, but they might indicate some flaws in the product. Using a spike finder is important to ensure you hit the centers of the spikes. , and I chose three sets of supports 32 inches apart, giving me a total span of 64 inches. Then I laid out an eight foot board that hangs 16 inches on each side. Time will tell if there's too much overhang to trim, but it shows the versatility of this product in giving you a longer shelf. I plan to buy three sets of two studs and mount them on separate walls as two sets of three studs. Installing the studs was pretty easy. Of course if you have the top hex bolt it will hang vertically but a 3 foot -level helps I made the top bolt, then the bottom bolt, and hitting the middle two was pretty easy. I used a 1/2" socket on an impact wrench which made it very quick. I will say the head of the screws didn't fit because they didn't fit in one of my sockets. When stacking two sets of bars on top of each other I will say that the plastic connecting grommets aren't needed and I couldn't connect them, nor do I see how they could "securely" attach the bars together. Also, I think if you were to use them the bottom hole would be on the top post and the top hole on the bottom post isn't 2" apart like all the other armholes, so I just measured that distance myself to save it. "Although fairly easy, I figured installing the posts was the harder part of the installation would be. However, it turned out that it was necessary to thread the pins through the holes to secure the levers. Maybe that helps give them strength, but it was a little difficult to line up the pins and I needed a rubber mallet to push them in. The downside to this is the black marks I left on my wall since the pens are so close to the wall. I needed a hammer to hit the spring clips are very thin and I used a pin to press down on the center of each clip so it expands and makes it easier to access the end of each pin since I had to hammer in the pins , I can't see them move even without the spring clips. For my configuration, I wanted the shelves to be a bit higher going forward. My ceiling is 114 inches high and the top shelf is for lumber and other long items that don't need a shelf. This shelf is originally only 6 inches tall moving under the ceiling. I then settled on two 14" tall shelves. I see the use of four brackets in a vertical section (I used three) but I don't know how it would work with five. Hands was that one of the hands a rubber coating on the end was missing. After installation, the end of the arm is 16" from the wall, but if you want to install wood shelves, you have 14" depth. two holes under each lever that can be used to attach the shelf to the wall Mounts to attach. Now that some installation issues are over I expect they will serve my needs very well and work as a five start product.
