Review on πŸͺ‘ Delton Recliner Wedge End Table by Leick by Kristin Rogness

Terrible quality control

I needed a table to put the scanner next to the table. My table is wrong in the sense that the sides are not at right angles. A wedge-shaped table would be ideal. Enter Leick Delton's triangular table (note that it's labeled "Delton Recliner Triangular Table" in the box). Reviews looked good. The product looked good judging by the size. I would have preferred the table height, but 24 inches would have been acceptable. I received the table today. The first thing, which doesn't necessarily have to be a manufacturer's fault, is that the box was badly dented. I mean torn and broken at one end. I took a picture just in case and opened it up hoping the internal seal was sufficient. Luckily it did. When I opened the box, the first thing I noticed was the varnish smell. Very strong. I just got a table outside, I can still smell it inside. Next it was pretty clear that someone was sleeping at the wheel when it came to quality control. There are some bad cuts on the record. China, so there was definitely no edge inspection or possibly grinding on the checklist. Although it is possible that the defects are too deep to be corrected even by grinding. A defective span is 7 inches long. Almost every edge on the top has some kind of defect. And the bevel is uneven. There is a chime on the bottom which is quite noticeable. Oh wait, he has nice hand-finishing. Maybe, but the person applying this finish doesn't care about the product. They're no doubt just trying to knock it out as quickly as possible, despite its obvious flaws. Pros: Yes, it's fairly durable. Definitely easy to assemble. Just make sure you don't tighten everything until you have all the screws in place. The box is well padded so the box can be abused during shipping. Cons: very poor quality control. They obviously don't care what they build. The paint smells pretty bad. Make sure you have a window open when putting this together. You need to clean this thing well. Static from styrofoam and other protective material sticks to the table and spreads throughout the room. I'll leave it at that, mainly because it's hard to find anything the size you want and it's only in my office. I classify this as discarded furniture. It's just not worth the time and effort to take them apart, swap them out, etc. Based on this very limited experience, I'm inclined to assume that Leick makes crappy furniture that's made in China with little or no quality control. to make them appear as artisans.
