I was glad to get this soundbar. Yes, this is not surround sound, it is used on TVs that have a 2.0 channel. Which by today's standards are few. But you can also use it with your bluetooth devices like phone or mp3 player and tablet to play music or movies. You can also use it when making phone calls. There are several sound options. Music, Movies, Talk and Standard. Speaking is good for conversation as it sets the frequencies for voice communication. It comes with a remote control that allows you to switch between different modes. It's NOT wireless, so you'll need to plug it into the wall for constant power. I now have another Bluetooth speaker that produces good bass frequencies. Better than this. And did I mention it's wireless? You can connect RCA components to it using the included RCA cables. You can also connect a mini jack to it (not included). As well as an optical cable to connect to a digital optical source such as a game console or Blue Ray player. In general, this is a good column. It is compact and comes with mounting brackets already installed on the speaker bar. You only need to use anchor bolts and mounting screws (not included). If you want something small and not very dynamic in terms of sound this is a decent speaker, but if you want something with a little more bass and power AND wireless then you can find something else.
