They work well if you only use them to cover the laptop camera lens. However, if you have an iMac or MacBook, the LED to the right of the lens that shows the camera is on or the ambient light sensor, which is to the left of the camera, will be dimmed or completely covered. I see this can be useful on a smartphone as well, but if there's a light sensor or on/off indicator, it will light up. Otherwise, their small size is great, and the mechanism to swing the lid back and forth seemed fine.
