A little more than I expected but not in a negative way. I took the advice of one of the other reviewers and washed and dried it before using which made it a lot softer. The color has not faded at all. It's just a big subject. So if you're planning on using it as a wallet, you might need to get creative or spend a few minutes looking for everything you need inside. I only have a few small pouches (like makeup bags and pencil cases) and I use them to organize things so I don't feel like Mary Poppins is sticking her whole hand in there trying to dig things up. a few months now and all the stitching is like new and the fabric is in good condition. The fabric is quite strong so I don't think it will tear easily.
