I bought this because I made a lot of YouTube videos and wanted my gun mic to work with my phone. I also wanted a good b-roll with the ability to take good still (moving) shots from interesting angles. For example, I do a lot of gardening and wanted to show the plants from a low angle, which is a bit jagged just by holding the camera. It works really well for that and in a few weeks I will be volunteering with an environmental organization that wanted a videographer to film the cleaning. I think it would be perfect for this because I can move around but get some nice shots of the rubbish they are hauling out of the river.
