Due to the thin nylon material, the harness weighs next to nothing. It is a good choice for a hike or a walk of several hours. The water bottle is essentially held in place by gravity with an elastic cord. The bungee doesn't have much tension, so it doesn't help keep the bottle taut. Your bottle probably won't hold up securely if you're engaging in intense activity. Most runners will probably find carrying a large tank in this belt uncomfortable. I like that it has several small compartments. There is a small zippered pocket which I like to keep my lip balm in. Large zipped compartment for energy bars, wallet or mobile phone. There is also a double open pocket which I think you can put a jacket or something in. I don't think an open pocket is that useful.
