Review on πŸ”Œ Enhanced Heat Shrink Wire Connectors by Wirefy by Stephen Pendergrass

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Wanted it to be good.

Attracted by the price and the rave reviews, I ordered these. While working on an electronics upgrade on a large yacht, I was hoping to get a product that would be equal or better than Ancor's expensive terminal products. Well, in my view you get what you pay for. My main complaints about these terminals are: 1. These items are the wrong size. Using a 16 gauge wire marked terminal and a good quality ratchet crimping tool, after thinking the connector was securely crimped on the wire it just slipped off. Not only a performance killer, but also a waste of terminals.2. For sockets, the shrink tubing is too long. After heating, the sleeve seals the open end of the connector. This is eliminated by carefully trimming off excess plastic at the end of the connector. Performance killer again.3. Shaft length is slightly shorter than Ancor terminals. One has to wonder if that will cause connectivity issues in the future. The reservoir is of good quality, but the connectors are packed so tightly into tiny holes that it's quite difficult to remove them without the use of needle-nosed pliers. On the plus side, the quality of the shrink tubing is good. Wire - If you view and read reviews, please take this as constructive criticism, fix the faults and you will receive a truly premium product.

Pros
  • EASY TO USE β€” Strip the wire, crimp the terminal body with a crimping tool, and heat with a hair dryer while twisting the connector. The shrink tubing shrinks and sticks to the wire. No soldering kit required. Create secure and strong connections in seconds.
Cons
  • I have doubts
