They do their job. Slightly disappointed with the lack of included screws. Luckily I had them and if you are replacing an existing IEC plug you probably already have the screws. Although I have installed. So I had to get my own screws. If it has another downside, it's that if you make a hole too big, the edge can be 1mm larger. That's not a problem with aluminum. Just drill a slightly smaller hole and carefully file the hole to fit. Although steel can be a bit more difficult. Sawing steel is tricky, so you need to make the holes as close to the edge of the hole as possible or you'll have to spend an hour or more filing like I did installing it in a 5150 guitar amp chassis. In terms of durability, it seems strong enough for the vast majority of people. Haven't toured with it yet but I think it should be ok. I've used one each for two of my amps that previously had solid leads, and I have a spare to toss in my tool box in case something goes wrong. In any case, I recommend it.
