Good replacement socket

This was an exact replacement for a defective socket on a small Fender guitar amp. It was quick to swap out and the amp's connectors were firmly seated in the tips of this socket.

Pros
  • Wiring and connector
Cons
  • A newer model could have been chosen

Replaces the old AC input

Used to replace the 120VAC input on an old Tektronic oscilloscope. Center holes at 1600 inches required opening up the original chassis which was centered at 1500. An aluminum plate was prepared to cover the remaining large 1 inch diameter round hole. These inlet connectors feature a .200 wide solder tail that also securely mates with F200 or F250 Faston connectors, simplifying future replacements.

Pros
  • Industrial Electrical
Cons
  • Ugly Packaging

Great offer. I only needed 2. Not 10 so I got this pack.

They do their job. Slightly disappointed with the lack of included screws. Luckily I had them and if you are replacing an existing IEC plug you probably already have the screws. Although I have installed. So I had to get my own screws. If it has another downside, it's that if you make a hole too big, the edge can be 1mm larger. That's not a problem with aluminum. Just drill a slightly smaller hole and carefully file the hole to fit. Although steel can be a bit more difficult. Sawing steel is…

Pros
  • Industrial & Scientific
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
