We originally gave this scanner a 5 star rating. It met all of our needs and was easy to use. The scanner worked well so we bought 2 more. Then the first scanner stopped charging after about 6 months. It appears that the portable device has inserted the charging pin into the base station, so it is not receiving any power. Sent back to Revain for a refund. The other two worked for several months after that, until one simply stopped working. We tried our best to use the user manual to solve the problem, but the user manual is so poorly written that it's almost useless. The device comes with no contact number or address, so all you need to do is contact Revain. This second return was a nightmare. The support rep kept telling us that we had already sent the defective one back, which was wrong. After haggling for about an hour we were allowed to return for a full refund. We're done with the Kercan scanner. We will upgrade to a higher quality device that has some sort of customer support.
