I'm not a professional manicurist, for home use only, not for removing gel nails. I like the weight of this tool, it feels good to work with and the weight makes it comfortable to use. Love that it's wireless and rechargeable! I mainly use it on my daughter's feet. She develops calluses that need weekly grooming, and this tool allows you to sand down those spots quickly and easily. I have to be careful not to hold it in one spot for more than half a second at a time - part of the power tool technique - to avoid hot spots! My favorite attachment is the white ceramic grinder and each attachment has one and I have other attachments that match this attachment and meet my specific needs. Try not to stay in one place, but jump up and down to avoid hot spots. And even thick skin gets hot! I practice on myself all the time to remind myself how easy it is to get hot spots and how to avoid them, and every tool heats up differently too. I also have one of those nail fans with a really good filter that sucks in air and collects dust while doing foot and nail grooming and I love that filter so much! Thanks to the two devices, foot care is much more fun and much faster.
