The first adapter I bought fell apart when I unwound the cable. The strain reliefs are designed so that applying any torque to the cable can open the built in amplifier module in the middle of the cable. I sent it back and got another one which didn't fall apart this time. The cable is ideal for USB 2.0 devices such as keyboards, mice and headphone amps. However, when I plug the Logitech StreamCam directly into the cable (using only the USB-CA adapter), it is recognized as a 5000Mbps (SuperSpeed) device. Unfortunately the camera doesn't work. guvcview (on Linux) just freezes when accessing the camera. The same applies when I connect the camera to an Anker 7-port hub using this cable. The same camera and hub works fine with the 25ft cable I have, so the only difference is that cable.
