Review on 🚗 Metra 99-5808 Single DIN Installation Multi-Kit: Perfect Fit for 2004-up Ford/Mercury Vehicles (Black) by Victor Pinckney

I bought this item to fit a non-original stereo in my Ford Focus 200*. The kit arrived in reasonable protective packaging as expected and therefore in excellent condition. The installation instructions were simple and the installation itself was quite easy and quick. A small "hidden" recess that offers space for additional CDs or other materials is particularly appreciated. I have one concern about this item, but it's a serious one: the quality. The product is made of standard molded plastic. While it does not appear to be particularly brittle, such plastic does become brittle over time, a process accelerated and exacerbated by the extremes of heat and cold experienced by automotive interiors during the respective summer and winter months. During installation I noticed a line of fading discoloration that appeared on one of the tabs where the kit attaches to the car with a screw - this fading discoloration indicates weakness due to side loading of the plastic and appeared when I attached it to the Dashboard. To summarize, as long as the kit performs its required function, I will provide updates on any issues that arise.
