Makes shrill noises that hurt the ears.
Good alternative to fire. In hindsight I think I prefer a windproof flame but this works well for lighting candles if you need a curved neck or gas grill. My biggest complaint is the very high pitched sound it makes when it's on. This is cruel to my ears. For example, the sound of a high frequency when you turn on an old TV, or perhaps the sound of a plug scratching a glass panel. However, I think that maybe I'm sensitive and others might not even hear it.
