Waterproof and fit! If you have one of their glass vaults, the lids are identical. In fact, the lid on my light pink glass cooking jar matches the lavender jar in this set and vice versa. See photos for example. They have a durable plastic shell with a silicone sleeve permanently attached to the shells. The lids are just as strong, with secure latches. I'm happy to see that because of their different sizes, they can be nested inside each other. The lids fold in nicely when you lower the latches, as if you're actually locking them onto the shells. The small, round container is larger than most condiment snack bowls, which I appreciate because it makes it easier to dump every last drop or carry more. Lids can't technically be used in the microwave, but in this house it will! We simply unlatch the lid, rotate it 1/8th to expose all 4 corners of the bowl and act as a splash guard, then flip it open. I did that with my glass version and now with these and I have another warp. See photos for example. I've never had a sweet, greasy tomato-based product stain or blister those skins. Although I only use the microwave in less than 3 minute increments, stir and heat in my 1000 watt zapper when needed. Great set and yes I warmed up my lunch during this review. Thanks very much!
