Convenient and good for emergencies
Movement directly in front of the sensor good, laterally not effective. The very light, dark option is nice because it doesn't cast harsh shadows when watching TV in the dark. The emergency lights turn on when the power is turned off. A motion sensor prevents the battery from being discharged in the event of a power failure. Has a reflective flashlight cone on the top of the device as an additional feature. I plugged one in and turned it off so it only wakes up when it's off. The other two lighting functions have a hallway/bathroom night light.
