I like spaciousness. I use them for French Onion Soup mains, stews, etc. I bought them to make custom casseroles like shepherd's pie, pot pies, baked pasta dishes, and even cobbler. The design is simple and uncomplicated, which is good because they look great with a variety of patterned or colored utensils. I'm taking off a star because the packaging was really quite flimsy, so flimsy that I was surprised it didn't break. In addition, one of the bowls has a small manufacturing defect in that the glaze was missing a spot. I am satisfied with the purchase and recommend them.
