Summary: If you want a camera system to monitor pets indoors or out, or see what's going on in the driveway, and don't want to bother with traffic alerts - or only care about relatively close-up movement - then think I think this system will do the trick (although there are probably cheaper alternatives). If you need rare false positives in various areas, all I can say is that I wasn't smart enough or patient enough with support to figure out how to do it to my satisfaction. Pros: The metal body of the camera feels durable. , impressive night vision range, impressive 5MP resolution (but you need a 4K screen to use it), quiet NVR. Cons: I had a bad NVR mouse, IOS/Android/PC client software issues, client software documentation issues, alarm sensitivity issues, customer service issues. I suspect most if not all of the issues I've encountered have been with many Reolink POE systems since many use the same NVR. I launched the NVR for the first time and found that although I could move my mouse around the screen and highlight options, I couldn't select. My own USB mouse worked well with the dash cam. The Reolink USB mouse worked perfectly on my PC. Hmm, a problem with the dash cam's USB driver? Firmware update did not help. Reolink customer service (in Hong Kong) offered to send me a new mouse, but it took "ten days" because Revain didn't have it in stock. At this point I had already been playing around with the system for a week and already decided to return it, so I declined. Questions by filling out the online form. In the US I might get one reply per day (typically after 8pm PST). This is a pretty slow pace to fix the problem. I can say the replies were nice and knowledgeable but it takes too long. The Reolink website has FAQs and other troubleshooting articles that I think are the most common issues. As Reolink admits, the PC client software manual is outdated. A small example: the manual says that a lower motion sensitivity number means higher sensitivity, but the clients are coded in reverse. The manual also has grammar problems on almost every page. I couldn't find a user manual for the Android and IOS clients, although I found them to be more intuitive to use than the PC client. To get motion alerts at a distance (e.g. 75 feet) I had to set myself up. This is bad at night as flying insects will set off many alarms on this setting. If you decrease the sensitivity, lose the remote motion alerts. Reolink can improve "intelligent" motion detection logic. I suspect the sun setting through the trees caused enough pixel changes to trigger some of my fears. There is a way to mitigate false alarms by masking certain areas of the image. The motion alert video is pretty easy to watch, but when I want to take a picture at a specific time, I can't find a way to step through the video. Right place. When I moved the video slider back in time, the video immediately started playing again. When I downloaded a motion alarm video to my Android phone, a popup said it could not be played. When I downloaded the video to my iPad, I couldn't find it. At this point I was too fed to check
