Although it didn't have pre-drilled holes as others have mentioned, the teak version I bought screwed together very easily and if you take your time things do lined up exactly how you want it, the final product is beautiful. I got a lot of compliments on the stool... step stool! But more importantly, it's very durable. I feel completely safe when I take out my upper cabinets. I love this little stool. I went back to order a second one but found it was teak. But I would recommend this stool to anyone with experience as a mechanic. However, for this project I used my own tools, not the ones included.
