Reduces wear on skids and rails like a laser beam

The kit includes 3 high quality skids that are a perfect match for my Eskimo Evo 2IT Two Man Shelter, for the Eskimo Evo 2IT 2-Man Crossover Ice Fishing Shelter, red. It includes mounting hardware and requires a drill, bit, socket wrench or wrench, and a Phillips screwdriver to install. I have previously fitted skids to 2 other sleds and found them a bit easier to work with as they are actually not that thick. There are no pre-drilled holes, so you must first create a hole that goes both through the skid and into the carriage. Each blade has a channel running through the middle (imagine a "U" shape when you look down at the rail stretched in front of you as if aiming for an arrow). This channel seems to help the sled move a bit better as there is no friction from the channel and it moves surprisingly well in ice, snow and mud. You really have to pull at a steep angle on the front to make it turn hard because the tracks hook up so well. Sharp turns are rare (e.g. loading, driving on narrow paths, etc.) so this is not a problem. Unit is supplied with stainless nylon insert nuts and washers to prevent bolts from stripping or rusting. They only protrude from the top about 1/3-1/2 inch depending on the thickness of your slide, but also prevent you from easily sliding over things when loading your gear. An example would be a tackle box that I keep under one of the front seats of my hideout, I had to lift the front edge because the nut acts as the container's stopping point. To do this I have to lift the container over the nut to slide it all the way forward . Not a big deal, and of course any other sled will be no different unless you set the rails against the ledge on the underside. The OUTSIDE that actually protrudes from the INSIDE of the slide, give the handrails 5 stars because they help a lot to pull my well loaded slide and provide ample protection for a very important part of the slide in my ice fishing gear.
