There when you need it.
What I like most about these round and square sockets is that they don't get in the way when you don't need them. I have 4 on the outside deck. When I need to add seasonal lighting I just pull it out and when I'm done I just close it. They are designed for tough use and since GFI are ideal for outdoor use.
