Stylish tracker, does its job, DO NOT WEAR IN SALTWATER

I bought this fitness tracker in August 2016 and have been waiting a long time to write a proper review. I had it less than a year and it eventually died during a trip to the Philippines from rusting in the salt water. Rest In Peace Misfit Ray. Pros: I bought this fitness tracker mainly because of its sleek design. It doesn't look like a fitness tracker and goes with any outfit. Wear it or wear it, that was a statement for me. I got a lot of compliments and questions about this tracker because it looked so pretty and a lot of people were surprised that I was wearing it! Kudos to the design at this point. I really liked the sleep tracker. Another major reason I bought this fitness tracker in the first place. I wanted to see if I was sleeping well or badly. It tracks wakefulness and light sleep, and that's about it. - Since it uses batteries, it was nice that I didn't have to charge it every 4-5 days. - The app was easy to use. It tracks various activities and you can manually enter activities that have not been automatically tracked. - I liked the discreet text notifications and call notifications. - Many people complained that the wake-up vibration notification wasn't strong enough for them to even feel it. I've never had this problem. Every morning at 7 a.m. the vibration in front of my phone alarm clock woke me up. Cons: This product came automatically with a leather strap. I bought the rose gold version with a gray leather strap. In my opinion, this color scheme does not work, but to each his own. I hated the leather strap. I work in an industry where I wash my hands constantly, so this strap gets wet all the time even when I try not to. God, after a while it's gonna smell like a wet dog! I was probably the only one who smelled it, but I didn't like the smell and the bacteria growing on the leather strap. I really hated that it didn't come with a sport strap. I know. I could buy a sports belt. The straps were ridiculously expensive and the colors I wanted were never available. I ended up changing the batteries in this tracker twice, although the batteries should last around 6 months. When I changed the batteries, the device and the app never synced properly. I would miss steps or exercises that should be recorded automatically. This product is water resistant to 50m. The packaging does not indicate whether it can be worn in fresh water, salt water, chlorinated water, etc. Waterproof only. I was on a trip where I did a lot of open water swimming while wearing a tracker to record my time and activity. DO NOT WEAR THIS PRODUCT IN SALT WATER! I didn't know it would rust so badly. It was pretty much broken when I got out of the water, so heed that warning if you're an avid open water swimmer looking for a fitness tracker.
