They are great for beginners as they add a little zest to ordinary gouache painting. I personally prefer to use separate water for metallics like I do for acrylic glitter and metallics just to prevent accidental mixing. Opening the containers was a learning experience. You have to be careful not to squeeze them when piercing the foil, otherwise the color will run out too quickly. But if you pull the bottom and the suit hasn't flopped yet, it will stretch out again. A friend taught me this trick. I would buy them or this brand again because I love how the colors look on multi colored art paper and how they dry and layer on top of each other in different shades and opacity.
