The key fob tab was broken on the previous replacement Viper remote. I was mentally ready to buy another replacement remote and figure out how to program the Viper to accept it now (years later), but I stumbled upon this replacement remote (body only, with very minor cosmetic differences from the replacement). So I was able to slide the electronic "innards" of the replacement remote control into the new replacement housing (perfect fit!) and didn't have to reprogram myself. Sometimes life can be really sweet!
