Review on ZOSI 16Channel Security Surveillance Detection by Brittany Collins

Terrible compared to other brands

TL; DR If you need more than a direct HDMI setup, contact Amcrest. to connect without an app and recently failed for no apparent reason. I was looking for a new DVR with at least 8 channels (with BNC), 4TB support and H.265 encoding. I currently have Amcrest and although they have a web client it only works with Internet Explorer and you need to install a plugin which Windows doesn't like. I felt its time was limited before it is no longer supported. However, you can access the information in the app, although it's cumbersome as there's a lot of information and it's not as easy to do on a phone as it is on a PC. DVRs are available with good reviews, I decided to try them to see if they are any better. Wow, Amcrest is so ahead of the game, the DVR had little to no configuration, I couldn't (or couldn't figure out how) to set it up to alert me when there was movement, there didn't seem to be such a possibility to set up a "mask" to determine where on the camera I want to detect motion (it's good if you have bushes that sway in the wind so you can exclude that area). Worst of all, when I tried to connect to my phone it took 10 seconds, if that at all (Amcrest activated all channels almost immediately) to finally show the channel and it was terrible quality, there was no way to get there Improve the quality of streaming, all these things are possible on Amcrest. However, most of the time the camera didn't stream to my phone and used about 1% of battery every minute of the attempt. Amcrest has these. It turns out that the new Amcrest software is better than before. The new dashcams come with a PC app (for Windows and Mac) to control everything you need. You still have a web client, but it still only works in Internet Explorer for video streaming, but you can do everything else in any browser, so you can still change settings, which is great. Now I can use the app or my phone to view the channel or the recordings and I can use the browser, the app or my phone to change the settings. I will say that Amcrest has so many options and configurations that it can be difficult for those who are not tech savvy, in which case I would probably suggest the Zosi DVR as these are just the basics. this. works on a monitor via HDMI and possibly on your phone, but nothing special to mess around with. For those who want true HD streaming (the default is SD, but you can edit settings to stream in HD), full control over scheduling, alerts, motion notifications, and even face recognition features, choose Amcrest. 265+ is amazing, I used to have H.264 which stored three cameras 24/7 for about 2.5 days on a 1TB drive, now I'm using a 4TB drive with the new H.265 + and it saves three cameras 24/7. , I used less than 400MB for almost 8 days. I didn't even have to upgrade the HDD. The new compression format is much better.
