Nice Security DVR is good for security and surveillance

The DVR gets the job done by connecting our cameras. However, it has trouble connecting to some 720p TVs. We tried 2 different 720p TVs and it was possible to connect to one TV (display on screen) but not the other. Resolution on 1080p TVs and 4K TVs is good. It got 4 stars because we couldn't use the existing 720p TV.

Easy replacement for my failed recorder

Bought to replace a failed Lorex unit. I was able to swap them out with no problems, same connections, and it only took about an hour. I had questions about setting up the network and used the IG link. They were very responsive and responded very quickly. I use a 32 inch monitor and the display is amazing. Happy with the purchase.

SO FAR SO GOOD - Video Surveillance Device

Bought to replace a broken 4 year old Lorex box. All my cameras were still working so I just bought them to use with my existing setup. Installation was easy. Just follow the guide's instructions and you're on your way. The app is a bit clunky but does what it's supposed to do, just takes a little longer. Overall I would recommend it so far or buy it again.

Not too run down for what you pay for

I would give it five stars if the quick start guide that came with it was more detailed. Replaced my Q-See DVR with Zosi when Q-See went bankrupt and remote viewing was no longer possible. Easy installation under the circumstances, but most of all I praise the customer support, especially in China. I had some problems with the remote display and the easiest way to solve them was communicating via email. I worked with "Bill" who always responded quickly to my inquiries with detailed messages and

Good DVR, feature-poor PC APP

DVR is enough, but mobile phone APP and PC APP are a bit weak. The mobile app doesn't have a good view of multiple cameras and doesn't seem to be updated. I have more than enough bandwidth to support 16 1080p cameras but the app is missing. My old system allowed me to stream to my computer with their app and save all the oldest videos for deletion, this doesn't allow recording except clips. When the disk is full, the application freezes for all cameras. Even if there is 1 camera that shows HD…

Terrible software, ok hardware, responsive email support

Summary - dead hard drive, horrible software, responsive email support via Coco, device seems capable given the price. I bought a 2TB 16 channel drive - $150. The device arrived with a dead hard drive (branded hard drive). I followed their FAQ to confirm the hard drive is not working. email support. For now I'm assuming this is going nowhere and I'll have to go back to Revane. Got an answer within an hour. I spent a few days emailing and they eventually admitted the drive was broken. I…

Cannot view remotely

The local performance of this DVR is barely adequate. You can view your cameras in real-time on the monitor, and while they're recording you can't set them to record motion, even if it's advertised as such (thus filling up all disk space with meaningless recordings where nothing happens). , which, as you understand, also makes searching for real events quite tedious). However, remote viewing is such a complex and cumbersome task that having this DVR is almost the same as not having it at all. I

Terrible compared to other brands

TL; DR If you need more than a direct HDMI setup, contact Amcrest. to connect without an app and recently failed for no apparent reason. I was looking for a new DVR with at least 8 channels (with BNC), 4TB support and H.265 encoding. I currently have Amcrest and although they have a web client it only works with Internet Explorer and you need to install a plugin which Windows doesn't like. I felt its time was limited before it is no longer supported. However, you can access the information in…
