Review on Waterproof Case for DSLR Cameras: DiCAPac WP-S10 Pro Series by Charles Mathews

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I've been sensible with it but not shy, updated now September 2019

Update September 14, 2019 I'm back in Maui using the same case from my last year in review. It has stood 9 months without use and still works well. No leaks Last year I used my Pentax KP with a 17-50 Tamron and this year I'm using a Tamron 28-70, it's a little longer than the other lens so it fits a little better. I didn't walk more than 8 feet on this trip. so far and have been 5 times. The last four pictures of this trip. Update 11/22/2018 I have used this 8 times in 2 weeks in the ocean and not a drop has spilled. I dived 10-15ft while snorkeling and everything was fine. I didn't stretch the lens glass, just washed it with fresh water and covered that part with a cloth during storage. I got it for my birthday and today I told my wife that it is one of my most useful gifts. I've included additional photos taken with this digipak. I followed the instructions and tried it in the pool first and then moved to the sea. Every time I use it I'm very methodical to close it properly. I approached 16 feet but for 5-10 seconds at a time. We remember putting a $1,000 or more DSLR in a $70 bag. This waterproof case is suitable for diving to get good quality images. I use a Tamron 17-50 lens with this on my Pentax KP. I can use the zoom, although it's a bit awkward. The camera's autofocus continues to work well. If I had to point out a design issue, the thumb hole for operating the clasp is probably the watertight point and I would be concerned to be careful not to float and apply force through the clasp finger hole. I wish the rubber section was more durable.

Pros
  • Solid finish
Cons
  • Damaged
