Review on ๐Ÿ”‘ RMP Stamping Blanks 10 Pack - 1 Inch Square Washer with 5/8 Inch Center - 16 Oz Copper (24 Ga, 0.021 Inch) by Michelle Langley

Revainrating 5 out of 5

good quality blanks; suitable for embossing (small images) and embossing

This review will be very similar to my review of round washers because the products are very similar. I bought them for embossing (using a Sizzix machine, co-branded by Vintaj, specifically for metal embossing). They are 24 gauge and seem like a good gauge for this machine. So far I've got some interesting patterns that can be machine applied to it and I'm now playing around with different patinas and finishes. and the stamp area here is narrow, maybe 1/4 inch, so not many of my picture stamps will work. I tried some small circles and a crescent just to experiment and it worked, although it took a little more practice than a standard square, oval or similar. I can also make a hole with a 1.25mm hole punch, so if you want to tie some of them together in a necklace or hang them on ear hooks or similar without wrapping wire or using a hanger you can make a hole, which you can use with jump ring. I find the surface shiny and smooth with no flaws (I didn't inspect each one carefully, but a few spot checks were good). I keep them in an organizer with some anti-rust paper to keep them looking nice. Didn't have to polish or sand any surfaces before use, whether you want to file the edges or not depends on how you intend to use it. Edges and corners can be a little sharp, but there are plenty of sharpening opportunities and that's to be expected with metals anyway. So far I have bought many RMP dies. 90% of them, including these washers, were excellent. Even those that weren't thrilled with 5 stars were still pretty good (and could be polished/sanded to a good finish).
