Relatively easy to assemble (once you figure out which direction the screws go, you should adjust the grooved strip properly). There is an old version of this easel and I like the ability of this new version to change the painting angle. Minor complaints: the crossbar sits too low, I need my water and brushes level with the painting surface and when seated the bar as I am working on small panels I'm working there is also something underneath then it needs to be lined or closed with canvas holders at the top and bottom. But these are small things. Like the light weight it's quick and easy to set up and the smaller size/carrying bag. My main use is, dated Switching from sitting to standing when I take a look at my I couldn't do it with a table without a very wu to get a neck!
