Pros: Lightweight, inexpensive, holds 100mm and 150mm filters and comes with 4 of the most popular lens adapter sizes and the filters are very close to the lens unlike Tilta's mini matte box. where the filters are far from the lens and you can get flare. Matte boxes are meant to be lightweight, and I feel that Small Rig has done a good job using stronger materials where needed and lighter, less durable materials where possible without sacrificing build quality. This is a matte box for wide-angle lenses that normally don't accept screw-on filters. I purchased a SmallRig rail mount adapter for this matte box, sold separately, and was happy to see that it mounts to either rail for more support, as opposed to the Tilta Mini, which only mounts to one rail. However I was disappointed that like the tilt it is only a single pin connection to the matte box so it is less strong with that single connection and the matte box rotates on impact with that single access. Of course, most standard-size, non-wide-angle lenses will work perfectly, since they use the included matte box lens adapters, and the single-pin rail mount is just extra support. However, servicing an entire matte box without attaching a lens is a bit risky. SmallRig please make an adapter to use this matte box with my Sigma 14-24 DG DN e mount. Yours is the best!
