Relevant if you have a compact laptop
When I had to replace my laptop in the middle of a business trip, I didn't think to check if it has a VGA port or a LAN port, or if it does could handle multiple USB cables at the same time. This adapter was necessary to get the full functionality of my machine. The only downside is that the USB-C cable is about 3 inches long, which limits the space to place the adapter.
