Unusable after 3 weeks. From the first week, the external drive disconnected intermittently. Possible Cause: A loose connection between the enclosure and the USB 3 cable can cause the drive to lose power. Sometimes it reconnected automatically, sometimes it wouldn't reconnect, and even after completely disconnecting and reconnecting I couldn't see the external drive. Only a hard reboot of the laptop (MacBook Pro, which I usually only reboot after security updates!) results in the OS successfully recognizing the drive. After 3 weeks it is not recognized at all, the external drive is not visible in the system, nothing in Diskutil. I bought the same item a few years ago and had a similar problem, but to a much lesser extent and with moderate use, it's still working after 2+ (maybe even 3) years. But apparently there has been no improvement and things may have gotten worse. Send back. And on my journey I had no access to processed data. At least I had it encrypted, how else could I send anything back with my data?
